1-4-1, 1-4-2:  Minimum and maximum dimensions for water polo facilities using floating goals and wall goals are defined.

Rationale: Clarifies the range of water polo facility dimensions.

1-18-1, 1-18-2:  Girls and boys water polo ball pressure shallbeinflated according tomanufacturer specifications.

Rationale:  Clarifies that the water polo ball pressure must adhere to manufacturer specifications. 

3-6-4, 2-2-3, 3-6-5:  A yellow card for disruptive behavior may only be issued to the head coach or the bench (the players collectively on the bench).  Other team personnel shall receive a red card for similar behavior.

Rationale:  Specifies that team personnel, other than the head coach and the bench, shall receive an immediate red card for being disruptive.

4-7-1: Each team shall be entitled to three 2-minutetime-outs and one 30-second time-out during the game. 

Rationale:  Aligns the number of timeouts with the number of periods in a contest.    

7-12-1, 3-9a: A player receiving a 2nd minor act of misconduct in a game will be excluded for the remainder of the game. 

Rationale:  Clarifies that players should receive only one warning prior to a game exclusion.     

7-12-6 (NEW):  Simulation of a foul is prohibited.  The penalty for the infraction was defined.  

Rationale:  Defines simulations and established a penalty for a player on offense and defense.

Rules Book – Beginning with 2018-19, the NFHS Water Polo Rules Book will transition to a two-year publishing cycle.
